NEET-UG 2026 Leak Outrage Intensifies as Youth Protesters Demand Education Minister's Resignation

Public outrage over the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak deepened as youth protesters camped at Jantar Mantar demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The demonstrations, supported by students and farmers, followed a re-examination and at least 11 confirmed student suicides, while authorities promised investigations and examination reforms.

Public anger over the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak intensified as members of the satirical Cockroach Janta Party continued their protest at Jantar Mantar, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The group has been staging a sit-in since June 20 following the examination leak, which resulted in a re-examination and was linked to at least 11 confirmed student suicides.

The controversy escalated after Dharmendra Pradhan described the protesting organization as a "B-team of terrorists." His remarks triggered strong criticism from Cockroach Janta Party leader Abhijeet Dipke, who sharply rejected the allegation. While acknowledging that some responsibility rested with authorities, Pradhan also attributed the tragedy to broader societal pressures.

The demonstrations have drawn support from students and farmers, turning the protest into a wider movement seeking accountability over the examination scandal. Protesters have adopted symbolic methods to express their anger, including a diaper donation campaign aimed at mocking the Education Minister.

Political opposition groups have also intensified pressure on the government, demanding accountability for the leak and its consequences. Authorities have promised corrective measures, including investigations by the Central Bureau of Investigation and the introduction of computer-based testing from 2027 in an effort to restore confidence in the examination system.
